This piece has a taste or flair for the surreal. The vase with the face. The bowl that has a canoer in it another bowl has transformed into some sort of vase or glass that has a tree a feminine tree inside. All with faces. I had this empty area in the upper left hand corner I hadn't fully decided what I was going to do there.

And then I got the call that she had died.

I have come across many interpretations for the same piece.

I think I like this. I was concentrating on the negative space as well as the shadows. And also I created some repetition.

Using Opera Pink and some fabric paint for the pinks. Some fairy dust also known as glitter and indigo mixed with opera and a neutralizer.

I am so happy with this piece. I feel as if I have reached some kind of turning point. Until today when I was working on pieces 10 and 11. So we shall see how they evolve.

The still life, the painting is no longer about the pieces in the still life.
